Pastoral Care

At St Peter’s we want to see every life not just surviving, but thriving, as our lives are transformed by Jesus.  Our church family plays a key role in this as we champion one another on and support each other – we pastorally care for each other.

 

This mainly happens through our house groups (please can this link to the house group page) and other ministries, as we do our everyday lives together.

 

Sometimes we night have a specific need, where we might need some extra support or a listening ear.  We have three trained teams who can offer pastoral care:

Bereavement Visitors

Homefront

Lay Pastoral Visitors

Bereavement Visitors

  • Visiting parishioners who have been bereaved.  This may be at home, in residential daycare centres, in a hospital or in a public place. 

  • Offering listening, conversation, support or prayer to those being visited as appropriate.

 

Homefront

  • Visiting parishioners who are elderly, disabled or housebound, in their homes, or in residential care homes.

  • Offering listening, conversation, support or prayer to those being visited as appropriate, offering the following:

  1. Taking home communion to share with individuals.

  2. Taking the recorded 11.15 am service to listen to individuals.

  3. Visiting to chat and pray with individuals.

 

Lay Pastoral Visitors and Pastoral Assistants 

  • Visiting parishioners who are elderly, disabled, housebound, ill, recovering from illness or bereavement at home, in residential daycare centres, in a hospital or anyone needing extra pastoral support and prayer whilst going through a difficult time. 

  • To offer listening, conversation, support or prayer to those being visited as appropriate.
