St Peter's Women's Fellowship
Bringing women to and sustaining faith

Women's Fellowship members were treated to an afternoon of colour when the Rev Neil Lambert, from St Mary's Ash Vale, visited the group to speak on Art Therapy and give us the opportunity for some hands-on experience!

Neil, who was practising as a trained art therapist before his ordination, also spoke of his work with abused and traumatised children in Uganda, using art to enable them to express and confront their experiences which are often suppressed and so damaging.

Brightly coloured tissue was used to help us see the associations that colours hold for us, and praise God for the wonder of His creation and the variety of such amazing technicolour. We then used the tissue to create our own pictures of one of four different aspects of love (maternal, friendship, passion and God's love) and to guess what our neighbours had depicted. We had fun and also found much hidden talent among our members!

Donations from the afternoon went to "Help For Uganda" to enable Neil to purchase more art materials for his return trip to Uganda later this summer
