St Peter's Church Choir
Music at St Peter's

The choir at St Peter's is a robed, 4-part adult choir, and we provide the music for the 11am service on a Sunday morning. Our members have a variety of backgrounds, but with the common aim of providing the best we can musically, to the glory of God.

In addition to leading the hymns, we provide an anthem each week, drawing from a wide-ranging repertoire of music, ranging from earlier music such as that of Tallis and Farrant, through some favourites such as Mozart's Ave Verum, to more recent composers such as John Rutter and David Halls. The majority of our anthem repertoire is 4-part (SATB), and the hymns will also be sung in 4-part harmony where possible.

Currently, the choir numbers about a dozen people, but we would warmly welcome additional singers. Our practice time is Friday evening (7.45pm - 9.15pm), with an additional warm-up on Sunday morning at 10am, ready for the service at 11am.

The choir also provide the music for the "traditional" carol service in December each year, which contains a selection of traditional carols along with some seasonal choral items.

Joining the Choir:

If you, or your children are interested in joining the choir, then please speak to a choir member on Sunday morning, or speak to our Choirmaster, Brian, either in person or by email: organist@stpetersfarnborough.org.uk. We also maintain a list of additional singers who can help out for weddings, should a choir be requested. If you would like to be considered for this list, please contact the Choirmaster as above.
